                  Kusum Yojana
Empowering Farmers with Solar Energy Solutions
Key Objectives
The Kusum Yojana aims to:
- Promote the use of solar energy in agriculture.
- Empower farmers with reliable and affordable energy.
- Increase India's renewable energy capacity.
- Reduce operational farming costs.
- Encourage decentralized solar energy production.

                Components of the Kusum Yojana
- Component-A: Solar Power Plants
Farmers can install ground-mounted solar power plants and sell surplus electricity to the grid.
- Component-B: Solar Pumps
Provides standalone solar-powered agricultural pumps to reduce dependency on diesel.
- Component-C: Solarization of Existing Pumps
Farmers can solarize their existing grid-connected irrigation pumps and sell surplus energy.

                Financial Assistance
Farmers receive subsidies to reduce installation costs:
Central Government Subsidy: 30% of the cost
State Government Subsidy: 30% of the cost
Farmer Contribution: 40% of the cost (can be financed through loans)

                Benefits
- Cost savings by reducing reliance on diesel and grid electricity.
- Income generation through surplus power sale.
- Environmental benefits by promoting clean energy.
- Efficient land utilization for income generation.
- Improved energy security for irrigation.
How to Apply
- Farmers with agricultural land can apply.
- Visit the state-specific Kusum Yojana portal or contact the local renewable energy department.
